Sarah has been performing since she was very young. Her attention span, concentration, and memory are amazing. These abilities and her love of learning have helped Sarah excel in many disciplines. Sarah has loved books since she began reading shortly after the age of 2. At 3, she started piano and singing lessons with her Mom. Since moving to Prince Albert at age 7, Sarah has taken lessons in acting, ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance, and Irish dance. When she was almost 9, she used her Music Festival Scholarship money to purchase her first violin. Sarah now plays piano, violin, viola, clarinet, and french horn as well as being an accomplished singer.
The move to Prince Albert allowed Sarah to get involved in what she loves--musical theatre. She has been involved in 8 local theatre productions. In April of 2004, she was invited to Seattle to audition for Cirque du Soleil as a singer and on-stage character for their production "Quidam". Sarah was chosen as a replacement for the principal role of Zoe.
Sarah is an active performer in the community and beyond. You can hear her performing at Music Festivals, in Talent Shows, in the Prince Albert Country Music Shows, at nursing homes, for volunteer organizations, and even at the Saskatoon Fringe. Although her performing does cause her to miss some school, she maintains a 95% average in French Immersion and is bilingual.
This year, Sarah is playing occasionally with a local country gospel band as well as continuing in dance and music lessons. She was a violist in the Saskatchewan Honour Orchestra at the Saskatchewan Music Conference, chorus in Broadway North's Christmas production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella as well as playing fiddle in the Prince Albert Country Music Association's Christmas show as part of the band and during her songs. Sarah earned the lead role of Heidi in Rivier Players' February musical production of Heidi.
